Guns and Alec Baldwin

I think this tragic event perfectly summarizes how a lot of issues are handled and how stupidity, laziness, and falling back on political doctrine can be detrimental. Baldwin is a vocal liberal lunatic. Very anti gun, anti 2nd amendment. However, anyone with any basic knowledge or training in firearms would NEVER have had what happened to Alec, happen to them. At a minimum, they would have known how to disassemble or check the firearm to ensure its safety. Alec, being a dumb liberal, did as most do, and just took the gun, and fired it as he was told. Someone else(puppet master) dictates the narrative and direction, and then the underlings(Alec) just do as they are told.....Then when the unfortunate happens, Alec chooses to blame someone else(no responsibility for his actions or lack thereof). Quite sad but quite ironic and definitely something to learn from as this similar behavior casts a net around the way a lot of society behaves.

I was reading about this incident and came across a description of the Brandon Lee accident:

http://propguys.com/gundanger/

""I really have my doubts," says Bob Forker, the technical editor for Guns & Ammo magazine. The problem with that scenario, he explains, is that primer and gunpowder residue wouldn't provide enough explosive power to drive a bullet completely into the barrel. The rifling of the barrel, which is necessary to impart spin on the bullet, creates a very strong resistance, Forker says.

This editor should stick to writing about guns because he is incorrect.  I had a Hornady reloader and managed to mess up my reloads once and wound up with a cartridge that had a seated bullet with no propellant in the cartridge.  I didn't realize this mistake until I fired the gun at the range.  The primer firing without any propellant drove the bullet into the barrel where it lodge itself.  Fortunately, I stopped what I was doing and checked the barrel.  Had I pulled the trigger one more time the gun may have blown apart and injured either myself or the next person nearby at the range.  This was a .357 S&W revolver and I was reloading because I wanted the rounds to be hotter and the RSO once checked my gun to see if it was .44 Mag because the noise the hot powder loads were sounding like it.  .357 was the maximum caliber cartridge allowed on that range.

I also shot the gun indoors in my detached garage with only primer and those little plastic slugs that you can seat into the cartridge with your thumb.  Fun, but you don't want to be shot with one.  Primer is quite powerful.

Its the basic premise that people should be informed, not shielded and left subject to ridiculous narrative and agenda. Give people the power to control their destiny. If every dumbass actor tasked with using a prop gun in a movie or show is required to take a basic gun safety course none of this happens.

There was always a saying about something to the extent of there being two types of people. When faced with a battle, its either fight or flight. However its not always that simple and sometimes the correct answer is fight and other times its flight. The more appropriate analogy is...5 seconds left in the game. down by 1. ball belongs to your team. Are you the type that wants that ball? You have to live and die by your decisions. Thats why the stock market is beautiful. Obama, Trump, Biden, Fed, COVID....take it all and shove it. None of those things are responsible for my P&L....only me. Live and die by it. There's zero respect out there for folks who dont want the ball with 5 seconds left but then want to share in the glory if the guy who takes the shot makes it. Or for folks who want to elect someone to take part of that guys next free agent contract. If you dont know anything about guns you shouldn't even be playing with a Nerf gun or water pistol. Let alone a real one. Or be on Instagram lecturing people about gun safety.

I agree that a firearms safety course should be required before handling any gun.  The film industry will hopefully change.

No reason to have real firearms on a set these days.  Prop guns and CGI can safely do what real firearms do in film.

So banning guns would still have prevented this...doesn't matter if Baldwin is a rabid left-wing nut.  Cheers!
