Trump Pleasantly F**ks Over Republican Party

Now that he's approved the stimulus plan he proposed, Trump has put his Republican colleagues in a bind.  Open up the vault otherwise he vetoes any stimulus bill.  If the bill isn't approved...who gets the blame...Republicans.  If the bill is approved and excessive amounts of cash are dispersed increasing the national debt...who gets the blame...Republicans.  They can't win, no matter what happens!  Cheers!

I agree with the $2000 cheques. Send the cheques to everyone but tax it at 100% for people whose income did not decrease from 2019 to 2020 or had incomes over X amount in 2020.

That is actually a fairly bad idea from an operational perspective.

What else is new?

President Trump does the right thing for the people regardless of political party.

This is a bold move done for the people and they won't forget it.

It is a move done primarily for Trump to enhance his popularity with his base, and he simply wants to saddle the new administration and the taxpayer with more debt. The hilarious part is that you right wingers think this is a great move and next you will be bitching about Biden raising taxes to pay back Trump’s massive deficits.

Just demonstrates that Libertarians are right and that government is pretty bad on average.

Personally, I am not opposed to this $2,000 cheque idea. However, there must be a ton of "pork" in this bill and all kinds of "not urgent" type of programs which should be entirely removed.

"Trump Pleasantly F**ks Over Republican Party"

I'm thinking that the GOP really didn't need Trump's help to do that. They have done a pretty good job of that on their own.

It seems that all these Trumpers that have been sh*tting on the GOP and bragging about Trump "destroying" the party are going to leave themselves without a party to vote for.

I actually find it amusing how everyone, including the threads originator, TOTALLY misread this entire situation. Trump, smarter than all of them, saw very quickly how the stimulus battle was to play out. Mitch wanted nothing and settled for $600. Nancy wanted $1200. But the GA elections would be bought by lower income votes. $2000 would have assured a clean win for Republicans....Nancy was hardly a genius but once she saw that Mitch missed the layup, she took it and is now campaigning along with Joe on the $2000 pledge and it will likely win them both seats. Mitch is typically quite savvy, but he fumbled on the 1 yard line in the Super Bowl here.

Contrary to your opinion, I did not misread the situation.  Biden will disperse $2000 and get no blame for the excessive spending.  Trump may also get votes, but the Republicans will get the blame for the huge spending spree and the fact that their President vetoed the original bill and proposed the largesse for the masses.  If Biden had proposed the $2000 spending spree, you guys would be hanging him from every tree for fiscal mismanagement.  Now the AOC's got what they want and you guys get the blame!  Cheers!
