I Guess We Can Now Get Rid of The Politics Section!

As much as i have enjoyed the politics thread, especially the past few months, it is a great idea to punt it. It has taught me some. And been very cathartic at times. The problem is much of the discourse will simply rot the brain over time (and i take my share of the responsibility for this). And the risk is it then seeps into the rest of the board. And then people leave the site or post less and that would be a shame. There are lots of great posters on this site. So, yes, time to move on from politics :-)

PS: and a suggestion moving forward. When people make claims (based on facts) please provide, where possible, links that help substantiate the claim. Of course this is not possible all the time. But i find that is often where i find the best learning comes from. And the best debate. As i have said before two people can look at the exact same situation and reach very different conclusions, And both be right. Because we often value different things.

As i like to tell my wife and kids i haven’t been wrong yet, but there is a first time for everyone :-)

It would also be nice if people eliminated the personal attacks (and , yes, i will strive to get better at this :-) keep the debate focussed on ideas not calling out other posters.

We likely will be seeing lots of volatility in financial markets in the coming months... lots of money to be made :-)

I'll wait till the court cases are over, but we'll get rid of the Politics section soon, now that this era of divisiveness and nausea are over!  Cheers!

While the election may be over, we might want to wait and see what interesting actions the departing president has in store for us between now and January 20th.

Remember this is the guy who asked if he could pardon himself - which raises the question of what crimes did he commit for which he would need a pardon?

I suppose he'll have to tell us.  ;D

Our 401k and retirement accounts also should be destroyed by now, but last I checked mine were doing quite well. Also, instead of looting the blue cities , the left liberals are now dancing in the street and there are more people in front of the White House celebrating than during his inauguration. Trump himself went golfing so I guess he is Ok.
