In Crazy News - The Chinese word "That" has been deemed offensive

I had a moment over the weekend. We finally went to one of our staple hibachi/sushi spots that just re-opened. My 4 year old son, who loves Chinese food, excitedly started chanting "Chinese! Chinese!". My wife looks at me, again we're just in the car driving there, so not in public, and goes "do you think he'll offend anyone if he did this at school?". And for a minute I saw her point..basically anything ethnic or race related, regardless of context, has become offensive to some. Then I thought a little harder and jokingly said, the fake outrage liberals dont care about Asian people, so its nothing to worry about. But yea, a lot of this shit has gone way to far.

I hope those offended stay in the US and never travel to China, I would not want them to be offended by 1.3 billions people.

You do hear the NiGah sound often when travelling there. It's surprising the first time you hear it but I don't see how anybody would take offence when it's clearly not the same meaning. Thinking of it in french we have the word "aide" which means to help, maybe we should change our language because it sounds too much with AIDS...

It certainly seems to have reached a peak of nonsense.  It's about time for people to stop letting the social justice bullies push everyone around.  The only proper reaction to this stuff is to break out laughing when they report it or complain about it, here's another one that is indicative of the same type of craziness.

"I'm sorry, but the word happy is a discriminatory word and we aren’t allowed to use it, as somebody who is not happy will be discriminated against."

Salon had to remove job ad for 'happy’ stylist because it is 'discriminatory' against unhappy people

Woooow! Such unhappyophobes!

Do you guys want to get together and wage online war by giving the salon negative yelp and google reviews? We'll teach "her" something!

Sorry in advance if I used the wrong gender pronoun!  :-[

If you're happy and you know it, shut your mouth!
