'Bunker Boy', and his people, really have to be truly incompetent to f***up this badly.

The rally, ... it's gonna be HUGE!, 1M+ people! - yet only 6,200 showed, or 0.62% of the registration !!.

Rocked by teenagers  - who have now ALSO demonstrated how to blow-up the AI engine driving microtargeting advertisements. Do you really think that Trumps people are going to risk using that data collected? and that new data collection going forward - is NOT going to contain a lot of deliberate misinformation? Garbage In, Garbage Out - AI just processes it faster  ;D

'Bunker Boy' re-election was even money going into the rally - now, the fatboy is favoured to lose. Pay's ya money, swing at the pinata, the more swings, the betta ya odds! Entertainment, and negative feedback loops are almost impossible to get out of ....

Sadly though, drowning men do desperate things - and 'Bunker Boy' only does what's good for Bunker Boy.

Looks like playing the odds book could be a profitable past time.

Yes, first it was going to be 1,000,000 people who wanted to attend his rally.

But they could only seat 20,000 but would set up an additional location for another 8,000.

People lined up on WEEK in advance.

In the end 6,200 showed up.

Now Trump is having another hissy fit in the White House. What an embarrassment for the Bunker Boy. What an embarrassment for the Country.

Make America Great Again - Dump Trump.

Perhaps people in the US are finally holding Trump accountable for what he says and does. Let’s hope this really is an inflection point and Trump’s ‘10 minutes of fame’ are over. Interesting historical parallel.

Trump’s sparse rally crowd enraged him. His advisers just revealed why.

Don’t look now, but President Trump may finally be realizing, with creeping dread, that there may be limits to his magical lying and reality-bending powers. He may be grasping that his capacity to mesmerize his supporters into disbelieving what their own eyes and ears are telling them is not absolute after all.

The iconic image of a modern president realizing he has lost control of events and of his public image is Lyndon Johnson, holed up inside the White House with advisers in March of 1968 as antiwar protesters chanted outside: “Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?”

Johnson — his presidency consumed by soaring casualties in Vietnam and mounting unrest in U.S. cities — confided to the advisers that his political capital had bled away. Like Trump, Johnson had for a time persuaded himself that media elites, out to get him, were exaggerating his travails and that the people were secretly with him. Soon after, Johnson announced he wouldn’t seek reelection.

So, you guys also probably intend to pay as much attention/analyze the crowd sizes and whatnot when Joe Biden holds rallies? Or is this specific to the derangement associated with Trump?

It really is amusing how absolutely obsessed so many people are with everything Trump does. They go beyond sore losers. I really am considering voting for Biden simply because I dont think the country can handle another 4 years of all the whining, the constant media stories, the bring down America to make Trump look bad slant to everything. So much is constantly distorted or spun into narrative fitting webs that it would probably be easier for everyone if establishment Joe gets the nod.

I mean look at how many folks even here, have zero purpose for anything they do other than to participate in conversations that are about or inspired by their dislike for Donald Trump. Its pathetic. But, ultimately like when my 3 year old is on a non stop rampage and the temper tantrum just won't stop, in fact keep getting worse, you just have to give in.

Trump has tried(and accomplished) a number of positive things. The problem is these retards dont even want that and fight it wholeheartedly along the way just so it cant be "Trump victory", forget whether or not it benefits America. He's tried:

Immigration reform- they cry racist

Lower taxes - he s just doing it so he can pay less

China reform - hes  a dictator

Russia crackdown - Putins his friend

Ukraine aid - oh he negotiated so lets impeach him

supports military and PD- oh he's racist

calls out other nations for not contributing equally- he's destroying alliances

Attempts to smooth North Korea relations - he cozying up to dictators!

Prison reform- they go quiet here, but then blame him for stuff like George Floyd and go back to crying "racist"

Its basically at the point where any American success just divides the country further because you have so many people filled with hatred and yearning to see Trump fail. So bad in fact, that they make national stories about how he walks down a ramp! Very bizarre.

Remember that Trump's own bizarre obsession with the ramp is what precipitated the left's coverage of the ramp episode.  He was still talking about it during his rally speech in Tulsa and dedicated a lot of time to it.

I have a feeling that some of Trump's behavior is narcissism, and some is strategy to intentionally troll the left, to prime the right to make the very criticism that you are making (in fact Trump narrates that story to you repeatedly), and therefore discredit the more serious criticisms that the left has of Trump (it's all TDS).  Hence, I believe you are correct that this will all get cleaned up by voting Trump out.

The way I view the spectacle isn't that the media is the 3 yrs old child.  Rather, Trump is the 3 yr old child that pushes the left's buttons, sometimes intentionally in order get get a rise out of the left's media, and then turns to his enablers (the right) and says "look, they're always picking on me and it's because they don't like me".

He definitely narrates for all of you on the right.  He is a repeated narrator of the story that is parroted by the right.  Trump again and again and again beats that drum, and whenever he needs to beat it again the media will reliably be outraged by his next 'gaffe'.

Trump defended Saudi Arabia to distract from a story about Ivanka

Trump made headlines in November 2018 when he released a bizarre statement defending the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman over the killing of Jamal Khashoggi. It included lines such as “The world is a very dangerous place!” and “maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!”

According to Bolton’s book, making headlines was the point. A story about his daughter Ivanka using her personal email for government business was also in the news at the time. After waging war on Hilary Clinton during the 2016 campaign for doing the same thing, Trump need a distraction.

“This will divert from Ivanka,” Trump reportedly said. “If I read the statement in person, that will take over the Ivanka thing.”

Well, there's another 3-year old that plays a big role in this too...his name is Hannity.  Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum together were great pushing the narrative until Fox News actually started asking themselves "What the f**k are we doing?"  Once Fox News became the enemy too, it became harder for the two TD's to push their agenda and make their bromance so obvious!

I agree with Greg though partly...if you remove the orange-glow, two-handed baby cup drinking, blowhard, jackass, bigoted, imbecile stuff Trump did, the few things he did get right were pretty good:

- Reduction in taxes and payroll taxes

- Dealing with Obamacare...but unfortunately not getting anything really done to improve it

- Challenged China, North Korea and Iraq...but left this gaping hole in foreign relations and I'm not sure where any of those countries truly know where they stand.

- Dealt with the UN and WHO...but again, no real solution or remedy.

- Closed borders...which unintentionally led to probably less deaths from Covid-19...but then he killed more with his slow policies and quick to reopen agenda.

- And that's kind of it...oh, he blew the deficit and total debt wide open...I don't think he can really point the finger at Obama anymore.

Way to go Trump, you weren't our worst President, but probably pretty close!  Cheers!

While the same basic epistemology is undoubtedly still at play in today’s media landscape, Taibbi argues that three significant changes since the late 1980s necessitate an update of the thesis pioneered in Manufacturing Consent. The first is the rise of conservative talk radio and Fox News, which triggered the partisanization of news so familiar to today. “Using a point of view rather than ‘objectivity’ as commercial strategies,” Taibbi writes, “these stations presaged an atomization of the news landscape under which each consumer had an outlet somewhere to match his or her political beliefs.” The second major change is the advent of the 24-hour news cycle, which the author says trained reporters to “value breaking news, immediacy, and visual potential over import” while creating “a new kind of anxiety and addictive dependency” among consumers. Finally, the rise of the internet and social media contributed even further to the general atmosphere of frenzied and atomized content consumption that today structures the news business.

When I see stuff like this today, I remember when Tiger Woods had to go through it almost 25 years ago...remember Fuzzy Zoeller talking about fried chicken and collard greens being served at the Augusta dinner.

To the folks on here who were arguing that the Confederate flag has nothing to do with race...it has as much to do with race as does the noose!  Cheers!

The man isn't dumb, but he IS trapped in a box that he cannot escape from - and the box is imploding.

He cannot just do a BK, and walk away. He cannot just blame everyone else, and resign disgusted. He cannot escape that as the incumbent; he IS the human pinata, forced to defend. And he cannot escape that ONLY while president, the various legal challenges against him are stayed.

Sure, you can piss off lots of people, and keep them separated by continuous distraction - but you CANNOT do it from a static position. You have to be mobile - and NOT there, when people realize they've been taken. Something an incumbent CANNOT do, as he/she is trapped in the box until the next cycle.

We know the man is thin-skilled, out of his depth in the political swamp, and with few friends. The daily, and progressively more aggressive mocking as the failures pile up, have got it hurt. The pressure has to be enormous, and the leaked hissy fits are now almost every week There are only three ways out - resign as did (that loser) LBJ, fight the election (and lose), or literally die in office.

For the GOP the smartest option this time out, is to just cut bait, spend as little as possible, and literally put out Trump as the human pinata. Loose the election spectacularly, use the behind-closed-doors opportunity to erase the cancer, and come back stronger - next time. For Trump its either win at all costs (drowning man), die in office, or resign.

Remember ENRON? Kenneth Lay as CEO? Ultimately, he never went to jail - as he was dying.

Volatility, as your new best friend until election day.

It would be to Trump's advantage if Dems were the only ones afraid of the virus.  Many voters make mail-in mistakes and their votes are not counted.  Something like 7% of mail-in votes were disqualified in 2018.

FACT CHECK: Trump Spreads Unfounded Claims About Voting By Mail

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, a Republican and also the nation's first secretary of homeland security, told NPR last week that Trump's unfounded claims could discourage Republicans from using a form of voting that is increasingly popular and potentially safer when considering the coronavirus pandemic

And here is what he could be setting us up for:

He will be doing whatever he can to set the stage to question the validity of the election should he lose. I said this here a couple of years ago and some just laughed at the idea.

Specifically, I suggested that if he lost the election he might state that there was massive fraud in the election and he would set up a special committee to look into it. Science fiction, perhaps? I hope so.

I also think he could attempt to use the epidemic as an excuse to postpone the election if he doesn't think he will win. These are dangerous times.

He might not be trying to challenge the legitimacy of the election.  It could be far simpler than that.  Although he may also challenge the legitimacy if needed.

25% of the votes were cast by mail in 2016.  More would be expected this year in the pandemic.

7% of the mail-in votes were disqualified in 2018 for various reasons (such as not arriving by election day in some states that have that rule).

What if a lot more than 25% of votes are cast by mail this year on covid-19 fears?  Disqualifying 7% of them is a big deal, especially for Trump if he can convince Republicans to vote at the polls out of fear that their mail-in votes might not count in a challenge that he threatens them about.
