Are you surprised by this? This has been going on since the Patriot act was implemented. It was increased under Obama and is now being increased under Trump. I believe the UK just put up cameras that catch people texting and driving which then sends them a ticket in the mail. The Orwellian 1984 big brother is very much alive and well in the world. That being said, what is the end result? No idea. As much as I would like to go all Libertarian and say this is unconstitutional (which it is) there isn't much that can be done about it.
