Viking
We are definitely living in crazy times. It will be interesting to see what comes of the Muller investigation; seems like we are approaching the next inflection point.
Gregmal
This is the guy who is sentenced to report to jail soon right? For lying or something like that?
cwericb
Yes. Pretty good incentive to tell the truth now rather than risk compounding his sentence. Funny how the system works though.  This guy is going to jail for lying while the President of the United States lies publicly on a daily basis and the people calling Cohen a liar see no conflict here. One guy is a dirty filthy liar while the other guy is a hero. Go figure? cwericb
Trump has three types of supporters. 1) As in any cult, many followers tend to be blind to their leaders transgressions. You can feel sorry for those people. Bring on the KoolAid. 2) Then there are those who support Trump because they feel that he is better than the alternative. Those folks should check their moral compass now and again and take a close look at who they are supporting. 3) Then there are those many elected Republicans who are not are not blind followers and know better, but they’ve sold their souls to retain their power and position. They are a sad commentary on today’s ethics.
Vish_ram
Is anyone here of the thinking that this whole Trump's ascendancy is just good old Karma at work to make him pay for his lifetime of sins? Â We might see Trump org file for bankruptcy under the weight of the investigations, Trump's sons change their last name (Like that of Madoff) and an end to the criminal enterprise. SharperDingaan
You have to think the trapdoor has sprung, and that Trump is now on his way out the building. All those 'caught and killed' docs sitting in secret vaults are rapidly losing value, and Mueller is the only buyer left ;)Â SDÂ Â Â
Guest MarkS
Before you guys get too giddy over Cohen's testimony, you should at least watch this exchange between Meadows and Cohen. Meadows has already referred the matter for criminal investigation. Gregmal
Its so funny watching the liberals get another "OMG we've got him" boner. This is now like the 98th time we've seen them do this. Every time it ends the same way. Please keep on...

Gregmal
His re-election odds continue to go up and will only continue to do so if this is the nonsense the Democrats are going to spend their time in control of the house doing. Octazio Cortez is all over the news grilling Cohen on whether Trump ever tried to lower his real estate taxes!!! They are just so out of whack and the Julie Smollett thing is indicative of where its continuing to go. The guys like Schiff... it's insane. I thought for the longest time he'd(Trump) be a one term president but not anymore. I've also said for a while, and everybody's hero Warren Buffett even said so recently, but Mike Bloomberg would be a great candidate. Howard Shultz should be embraced, instead he is shunned. And what's left of the left is these idiots running in the mostest diversest contest, and the result will be some goofy stereotype shouting "you're racist" and just like in 2016, America won't buy it. SharperDingaan
But the channel ain't changing bud! - despite Trumps best efforts to distract ..... ;) How is that N Korea visit playing on the news? Even the Saudi's are giving Trump the finger over his tweet 'demand' for lower oil prices. Along with the buyers using those expiring Iranian sanction waivers ...  How many months did it take between when Watergate broke in June '72, and Nixon went down in August '74? 27. How many months has it been since the Russia Investigation began in May 2017? 21. Most would think that the man has maybe 6 months left. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watergate_scandal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Counsel_investigation_(2017%E2%80%93present) SD
meiroy
I'm having more and more respect for AOC for the simple reason that if any system is corrupted, be it Capitalism or Socialism or what have you, this system will eventually decay and fail. Whatever temporary economic damage AOC might cause (e.g. Amazon), if she manages to reduce corruption in the system and strengthen the rule of law it will be a net positive for future generations. I've been an expat for many years and have lived in countries without rule of law or high level of corruption. In the free world, this corruption tends to be smarter, hidden but it is just as deadly.

Guest Schwab711
Before you guys get too giddy over Cohen's testimony, you should at least watch this exchange between Meadows and Cohen. Meadows has already referred the matter for criminal investigation.  The question referred to contracts with foreign governments. Rep Meadows was wrong. The next exchange clarified. If Cohen did lie today in other ways, so be it. He'll never be on the stand for his recollection of events anyway. Dude's a scumbag. Pence wont be President. Both parties are quite good at politics.

Both parties are quite good at politics.  You may be right. I looked at the form in question; it does ask for contracts with foreign governments. However Meadows is saying that a foreign government owns the majority of one of the companies Cohen had a contract with. All in all I have no idea if the form applies.

Gregmal
How do you know "they had no intent"? It's also illegal for IRS agents and cabinet members to leak info but that clearly hasn't stopped them. So essentially he sent a notice warning them not to do something illegal. Whats the big deal? Nothing of course. But it's Trump. So why not find some arcane angle to vilify him.
