America is getting great again!

On the contrary. Imagine living in a country which is so bad, that you willingly partake in a migration which has killed 10,000+ people over the last 15 years. Imagine how bad it must be that you choose to do such a thing.

And for those who would like to associate illegal immigration with increases in violent crimes, sorry to disappoint but the data just does not support such a claim:

Keep grasping at those straws, fellow citizens.

Fundamentally, this still comes down to one major thing. Why are we excusing and/or rationing people breaking the law? What if we apply the same indifference to other crimes? It is really that much to ask that someone follow the law? Especially someone who wants something from us?

Thats the big question, but getting back into partisan crap, I'll also point out that its the same people all butthurt over every major potential Trump discretion that want to completely turn a blind eye to blatant disregard for the law elsewhere. Funny how that works.

I'll just quote Sanjeev's response when you raised the same point from the other thread, because apparently it takes multiple repetitions:

I'm pretty sure everyone, including this liberal commie (I'm a centrist), said that something has to be done about illegal immigration.  We just disagree on Trump's strategy to achieve it.  Kind of like all of the level-headed Trump staff that have quit or resigned as they came to their senses.  What is left...Conway, Donald Jr., Kushner, Stephen Miller, Ivanka and Ben Carson?  Cheers!

Except that isn't the case. No where have I seen any of you guys ever cast blame on these scoundrels. It's always opposition crap or at best, "something else needs to be done". The same folks who regularly ask others to stop condoning Trumps nonsense, how about we stop condoning lawbreaking immigrants?

This is great Greg, I don't even have to post new material, I can just re-quote prior posts which have already addressed your claim:

allow full economic "citizenship" - i.e. you apply for some work permit. You pay taxes, you pay into social security and medicare. But you don't receive those benefits, you cannot vote, yo do not get a US passport. But you have a legal status. The increased taxes are the cost of doing business for the marginal immigrant. Those fleeing drug-torn Central America would not turn it down. It brings down the tax burden of US citizens, it separates the illicit immigration (drugs, weapons, human trafficking) from work migrants (which allows even higher penalties on illegal border crossing and therefore a stronger deterrent to the "bad hombres"),

Look Greg, right there I'm providing a means to have harsher penalties for the "bad hombres" illegally crossing the border to commit violent or dangerous crimes. We're in agreement!  ;D ;D ;D

You do realize crossing the border illegally is a crime. Thus it makes you a criminal? In other words, you do not have to then go on and murder a cop or sell drugs to be labelled a criminal?

meiroy,

Just under the "bold" button in post reply mode there is an "image" button. Or, as an alternative, press the "quote" button on Ross' post [to see the actual BB Code].

Thanks, John, for some reason I always thought this was disabled.
