Are most catastrophic political failures due to identity politics?

One thing I've realized is that every single political disaster of this century has been connected with identity politics and the politics of envy in some way. Examples include the following:

1) All communist experiments and failures

2) Sri Lanka civil war

3) Nazism

4) Venezuelan collapse

5) Zimbabwe

6) Rwandan genocide

 

Essentially all these movements were justified by the desire to punish some group because they were too successful and to help those who were perceived to be oppressed. Death toll is probably 100 million or more. The only exception I can think of is WWI and Bosnian genocide.
